Το πλύσιμο των ρούχων είναι ίσως μια δουλειά η οποία μοιάζει να μην τελειώνει ποτέ! Η σωστή επιλογή πλυντηρίου όμως μπορεί να μας εξοικονομήσει πολύ χρόνο στην καθημερινότητά μας, μετατρέποντας το πλύσιμο σε μια εύκολη και γρήγορη διαδικασία.
Πως επιλέγουμε το κατάλληλο πλυντήριο;

Χωρητικότητα
Είναι ένα από τα πρώτα κριτήρια που εξετάζουμε. Για να επιλέξουμε την ιδανική χωρητικότητα του πλυντηρίου μας αρκεί μόνο να σκεφτούμε την ποσότητα των ρούχων που έχουμε. Ενδεικτικά, μπορούμε να αναφέρουμε ότι ένας φοιτητής χρειάζεται ένα πλυντήριο με χωρητικότητα περίπου 5 κιλά, ενώ για μια τετραμελή οικογένεια κατάλληλο είναι ένα πλυντήριο με χωρητικότητα περίπου 8 κιλά. Τέλος, έχουμε πάντα στο μυαλό μας ότι σε ένα πλυντήριο με μεγάλη χωρητικότητα μπορούμε να πλύνουμε εκτός από τα ρούχα μας και κουβέρτες, παπλώματα και κουρτίνες.

Φόρτωση
Το πλυντήριο μπορεί να είναι είτε εμπρόσθιας φόρτωσης, με το πορτάκι να είναι στην μπροστινή πλευρά είτε άνω φόρτωσης, με το πορτάκι να βρίσκεται στην πάνω μεριά του πλυντηρίου. Το βασικό πλεονέκτημα των πλυντηρίων εμπρόσθιας φόρτωσης είναι η κορυφαία απόδοση, ενώ των άνω φόρτωσης είναι κυρίως το ξεκούραστο γέμισμα. Τα πλυντήρια άνω φόρτωσης είναι η ιδανική επιλογή για πολύ μικρούς και στενόμακρους χώρους λόγω της διάστασής τους.

Ενεργειακή κλάση
Η ενεργειακή κλάση μας δείχνει την κατανάλωση του πλυντηρίου κατά τη διάρκεια της λειτουργίας του και οι βασικές κατηγορίες της είναι οι Α+, Α++ και Α+++. Όσο πιο χαμηλή είναι η ενεργειακή κλάση τόσο μεγαλύτερη είναι η κατανάλωση ρεύματος. Αν επιλέξουμε ένα πλυντήριο με υψηλή ενεργειακή κλάση, σίγουρα εξοικονομούμε χρήματα από τους λογαριασμούς του ηλεκτρικού και παράλληλα προστατεύουμε και το περιβάλλον.

Στροφές
Στα περισσότερα πλυντήρια ο κάδος πραγματοποιεί από 800 έως και 1600 στροφές το λεπτό. Όσο μεγαλύτερος είναι ο αριθμός των στροφών τόσο πιο στεγνά βγαίνουν τα ρούχα μας από το πλυντήριο, εξοικονομώντας πολύτιμο χρόνο αναμονής μέχρι να στεγνώσουν στην απλώστρα. Όμως, να θυμόμαστε παράλληλα ότι οι πολλές στροφές το λεπτό προκαλούν φθορά στα ρούχα, για αυτό επιλέγουμε χαμηλό αριθμό όταν πλένουμε ευαίσθητα ρούχα ή μάλλινα. Σε πολλά πλυντήρια πλέον μπορούμε να επιλέξουμε τον αριθμό των στροφών ανάλογα με τα ρούχα που πλένουμε κάθε φορά.

Απόδοση πλύσης
Η απόδοση πλύσης μας δείχνει πόσο «καλά» πλυμένα θα βγουν τα ρούχα μας μετά από μια πλύση καθώς και πόσο ζωντανά θα βγουν τα χρώματα. Οι δείκτες της απόδοσης κυμαίνονται από το Α έως G. Καλό είναι να επιλέγουμε υψηλό δείκτη για να αποφύγουμε να πλύνουμε δεύτερη φορά τα ρούχα μας και έτσι τα διατηρούμε σαν καινούργια για περισσότερο χρόνο.

Απόδοση στυψίματος
Η απόδοση στυψίματος μας δείχνει πόσο στεγνά θα βγουν τα ρούχα από το πλυντήριο και συνδέεται άμεσα με τον αριθμό των στροφών. Όσο μεγαλύτερος είναι ο αριθμός των στροφών που μπορεί να εκτελέσει ένα πλυντήριο τόσο μεγαλύτερη είναι η απόδοση στυψίματος και τόσο λιγότερος ο χρόνος που χρειάζεται, να μείνουν απλωμένα τα ρούχα.

Απόδοση θορύβου
Η απόδοση του θορύβου μετράται σε decibels (dB) και όσο χαμηλότερη είναι τόσο πιο ήσυχοι θα είμαστε όταν βάζουμε πλυντήριο.
Χρήσιμη συμβουλή: Για να εξασφαλίσουμε την «ήσυχη» λειτουργία του πλυντηρίου μας, φροντίζουμε να πατάει σωστά και στα τέσσερα πόδια, χωρίς να γέρνει προς μια μεριά.

Πλυντήριο και στεγνωτήριο
Αν επιλέξουμε ένα πλυντήριο που μπορεί να λειτουργήσει και σαν στεγνωτήριο τότε εξοικονομούμε χρόνο και χώρο. Το μειονέκτημα της διπλής λειτουργίας της συσκευής είναι ότι δεν μπορεί να στεγνώσει την ίδια ποσότητα ρούχων που θα μπορούσε ένα στεγνωτήριο, λόγω του μικρότερου κάδου της συσκευής.
Βασικά προγράμματα λειτουργίας
Τα σύγχρονα πλυντήρια διαθέτουν μεγάλη ποικιλία σε προγράμματα για να επιλέγουμε κάθε φορά το κατάλληλο για τα ρούχα και το χρόνο μας. Ας δούμε ενδεικτικά ορισμένα:
- Πρόγραμμα γρήγορης πλύσης: είναι ιδανικό για ρούχα που δεν είναι πολύ λερωμένα και χρειάζονται ένα απλό φρεσκάρισμα. Συνήθως, το συγκεκριμένο πρόγραμμα διαρκεί 30 λεπτά.
- Έξυπνη λειτουργία, κατά την οποία το πλυντήριο ζυγίζει τα ρούχα που έχουμε τοποθετήσει, αναγνωρίζει πόσο λερωμένα είναι και προχωράει στην αντιστοιχία νερού και απορρυπαντικού.
- Προγράμματα λειτουργίας ανάλογα το με είδος τους υφάσματος, όπως για παράδειγμα πρόγραμμα για μάλλινα και ευαίσθητα ή πρόγραμμα για βρεφικά ρούχα.
- Πρόγραμμα για εύκολο σιδέρωμα, επιλέγοντας το τα ρούχα μας πλένονται σε τέτοιο αριθμό στροφών για να βγαίνουν όσο το δυνατόν λιγότερο τσαλακωμένα από το πλυντήριο και να γλιτώνουμε χρόνο από το σιδέρωμά τους.
Tips σωστής πλύσης για κάθε ρούχο
- Πρώτα από όλα συμβουλευόμαστε τις οδηγίες πλύσης που υπάρχουν στις ετικέτες των ρούχων, για να χαιρόμαστε τα ρούχα μας και αφού τα βγάλουμε από το πλυντήριο!
- Τα βαμβακερά υφάσματα είναι αρκετά ανθεκτικά, για αυτό μπορούμε να τα πλύνουμε άφοβα στο πλυντήριο, αποφεύγοντας όμως την πολύ υψηλή θερμοκρασία!
- Τα μάλλινα ρούχα είναι πολύ ευαίσθητα και αρκεί μόνο ένα λάθος πλύσιμο για να «μπουν», για αυτό τα πλένουμε με κρύο νερό. Σχεδόν όλα τα πλυντήρια διαθέτουν πλέον πρόγραμμα για μάλλινα και ευαίσθητα ρούχα.
- Τα λινά υφάσματα πλένονται σε πολύ χαμηλές στροφές και χωρίς στύψιμο.
- Τα μεταξωτά ρούχα, όταν μας το «επιτρέπει» η ετικέτα τους, πλένονται στο πλυντήριο σε χαμηλές στροφές και καλό είναι να τα τοποθετήσουμε σε μια εδική θήκη πλυσίματος ή απλώς σε μια μαξιλαροθήκη για να τα προστατεύσουμε.
- Τα πολυεστερικά υφάσματα είναι προτιμότερο να τα πλύνουμε σε χαμηλή θερμοκρασία.
- Τα σκούρα ρούχα, τα γυρίζουμε από την ανάποδη πλευρά όταν τα πλένουμε για να αποφύγουμε το ξεθώριασμά τους. Επίσης αποφεύγουμε τις πολύ υψηλές θερμοκρασίες αλλά και το στεγνωτήριο για να τα διατηρήσουμε σαν καινούργια.
- Τα παιδικά ρούχα τα πλένουμε ξεχωριστά από τα υπόλοιπα. Συνήθως, τα ρούχα των παιδιών είναι αρκετά λερωμένα για αυτό απαιτείται υψηλή θερμοκρασία και μεγάλος αριθμός στροφών. Πολλά πλυντήρια διαθέτουν ξεχωριστό πρόγραμμα για τα παιδικά / βρεφικά ρούχα.
- Τα αγαπημένα μας τζιν πλένονται στο πλυντήριο σε χαμηλή θερμοκρασία για να αποφύγουμε την υπερπροσπάθεια να το κουμπώσουμε επειδή έχει στενέψει επικίνδυνα. Καλό είναι να τα πλένουμε μετά από 4 ή 5 χρήσεις και όχι πιο συχνά για να αποφύγουμε τη φθορά τους.
- Για να διατηρήσουμε τα χρώματα στα ρούχα μας ζωντανά, χρησιμοποιούμε ειδικό απορρυπαντικό για χρωματιστά ρούχα.
- Τα σεντόνια και τις μαξιλαροθήκες τα πλένουμε στη θερμοκρασία των 60oC μια φορά την εβδομάδα.
- Οι πετσέτες μας μπορούν να πλυθούν ακόμα και στην υψηλή θερμοκρασία των 60oC, με ενδεικτική συχνότητα πλύσης τις 3 με 4 χρήσεις, ώστε να αποφύγουμε την ανάπτυξη μικροβίων.
Χρήσιμη συμβουλή: Καλό είναι να μην χρησιμοποιούμε μαλακτικό όταν πλένουμε τις πετσέτες μας γιατί με αυτόν τον τρόπο μειώνεται η απορροφητικότητά τους.
Tips για εύκολο και αποτελεσματικό πλύσιμο
- Δεν γεμίζουμε τον κάδο του πλυντηρίου με ρούχα. Αφήνουμε χώρο τουλάχιστον ίσο με μια παλάμη πάνω από τα ρούχα μέσα στον κάδο.
- Η υπερβολική ποσότητα απορρυπαντικού δεν συνεπάγεται και καλό πλύσιμο των ρούχων, αντιθέτως δημιουργεί προβλήματα στα περισσότερα υφάσματα.
- Η πρόπλυση είναι μια λειτουργία η οποία δεν είναι απαραίτητη σε κάθε πλύση αλλά μόνο όταν τα ρούχα μας είναι πολύ λερωμένα.
- Για να αποφύγουμε τη δημιουργία δυσάρεστων οσμών αφήνουμε την πόρτα του πλυντηρίου ανοιχτή μετά το τέλος κάθε πλύσης για 1 με 2 ώρες.
- Τοποθετούμε τα ρούχα στο πλυντήριο ανοιχτά χωρίς να είναι διπλωμένα για να μπορέσουν πλυθούν σε όλα τα σημεία τους.
- Απλώνουμε όσο πιο άμεσα τα ρούχα μετά τη λειτουργία της πλύσης για να αποφύγουμε τις ανεπιθύμητες ζάρες. Αν δώσουμε βαρύτητα σε αυτή τη διαδικασία θα διευκολύνουμε πολύ το σιδέρωμα.
